How do we know that 9 out of 10 customers would recommend Purplebricks? Or that we’re the biggest estate agent in the UK?
It all comes down to data.
We’re completely transparent about all of our claims. Some of them come from our internal data, and some of it — comparing us to the rest of the industry — has been substantiated by TwentyEA. They track 99% of all active sale and rental properties on the market — and it's the only property database with a whole of UK market coverage. In fact, their data is used by the UK's largest property groups along with The Telegraph, The Times, The Financial Times, The Daily Mail, The BBC, and many more.
So whether it’s claims about what we’ve done or how we compare to the market, here’s what you need to know.
“We’re the largest UK estate agent” and “We’re the UK’s most popular estate agent”
Purplebricks listed more homes in Great Britain than any other estate agent brand throughout 2023.
You can see more on this table, which displays a list of the volume of new instructions for 2023 by each estate agency brand in the UK. The instruction dates are based on whole of the market data from TwentyEA. The data in the table is for new instruction dates from the beginning of 2023 to 22 November 2023.
“We’ve sold over £73.5bn worth of properties”
This is the combined sale price of all Strike properties (sold from September 2016 onwards) and Purplebricks properties (sold from June 2014 to November 2023). Purplebricks’ data is based on prices at SSTC, updated where Purplebricks has been made aware of a change in price between SSTC and completion. Strike’s data is based on price at completion.
“We’ve sold over 303,000 homes”
This is the number of homes with a completed status by Strike properties (from September 2016 onwards) and by Purplebricks properties (from June 2014 to November 2023). For full transparency, Purplebricks sold over 250,000 properties during that period, and Strike sold around 50,000.
“We have hundreds of estate agents across the country, with many years of local knowledge”
We employ almost 300 agents — that’s a lot of years of experience.
“More 5* Trustpilot reviews than any other estate agent”
As of November 2023, Purplebricks had 80,081 5-star reviews on Trustpilot (we’re pretty proud of that). The agent next in line had 18,359 5-star reviews, in case you were wondering — and that was Strike, who we’ve now teamed up with!
“9 out of 10 customers recommend”
This is based on NPS data collected from Purplebricks’ customers between 1st August 2023 and 10th November 2023. The data finds that 94.79% of customers scored 7 or above under the basic NPS framework — and are therefore likely to recommend us to their family and friends. We’ve rounded down the 94.79% to “9 out of 10”, for clarity.
