2 bedroom ground floor flatSt. Andrews Road, Reading, RG4 7PJ

£375,000

We’re sad to be selling our flat, which has been our home for more than ten years, but it’s time for us to find somewhere a little bigger. The location has truly been one of the best things about living here. Caversham Heights has such a lovely village feel while still offering everything you need close by. There’s a small but lively town centre with plenty of independent coffee shops, a bakery, Waitrose, homeware store, pubs and bars – all within walking distance. Our street is beautifully maintained and has a real sense of community. The neighbours all know each other, and we even have a WhatsApp group for borrowing tools, sharing extra chairs for parties, or letting everyone know about local events. Every summer, the street closes for an afternoon BBQ, and in winter we gather in someone’s home for a cosy Christmas get-together with mulled wine and good conversation. We love cycling, and there are so many lovely routes nearby – to Stoke Row, Whitchurch, Mapledurham, and Henley – often with great pubs and coffee stops along the way. There’s also a charming local farm that hosts pumpkin and strawberry festivals each year, and it has a self-service shop with delicious fresh fruit and vegetables. The flat itself is bright and spacious, with two separate bedrooms, a large south-facing garden, and a garage at the back with an electric charger. It feels private and safe, surrounded by mature trees that give lovely shade in summer. There is also a lot of space and material for making your own compost. We even have a little family of four squirrels and a hedgehog who visit regularly, along with robins and the occasional woodpecker. It’s peaceful here, with kind and considerate neighbours all around. It has truly been a wonderful place to call home.
